Check this: A water main break in Bethesda, MD! It's a 66-inch [yes, 66 inches! That's 5.5 feet!] break in a main, and the road suddenly became a river. People were rescued by helicopter, cars were flooded, and our local news had a field day.
I'm hoping this is under control soon, because this is a pretty big wrench in Christmas plans for everyone. People are without water, cars are destroyed, and a major thoroughfare is shut down for who knows how long. Also, Suburban hospital is without water completely...that's scary.
At any rate, I find it sort of ironic that the name of the road where the break occured is River Road...
